time to move on to Virtual Racing as F1 is now eating our pockets
Pissed off it isn’t on the bbc as it is. I live in the Netherlands and I would only watch it on the bbc due to there being no adverys
It doesn’t affect me as I have Sky, but I’m annoyed at how it affects people not as fortunate as me.
F1 will lose this life-long fan in 2019. Sky’s cheapest TV bundle to get Sky F1 is currently £45.50/month – I could go to a race meeting a month at Castle Combe for that money (entry and fuel) or two local hillclimb meetings, trials or rallies, and probably see better motorsport :/
I’m devstated. I wont watch F1 post 2018. because I cant stand Sky’s abysmal coverage.
I’m a Sky customer so it doesnt affect me. But there are those fans who dont have Sky and this is a bad move. I don’t watch F1 anymore because of the decisions made by Mr. Ecclestone & the stakeholders. Its a sport that needs to seriously rethink its position towards the fans & modern social media & media platforms. The sport needs to listen to its drivers and re-ignite what made it great. Gjere are now other more interesting forms of motorsport out there who are much more in tune with giving the fans a sporting spectacle & engaging directly with the fans. Something needs to change now for those who are Terrestrial or Free-To-Air customers only.
The GPDA’s concern about the changing media landscape is well founded. A lot of viewers became fans thanks to free to air coverage. This will damage the possibility of getting new fans.
Going to miss the great people the BBC had like DC. The BBC were best at F1, Ch4 seems not to be so good so far. Sky are good apart from actual race day when no-one wants to talk to them as much as the old BBC folks.
BTCC is far more exciting. That’s where I’m heading for.
Already given up F1 has lost its way and it’s become boring to watch
